Golden Gate Greenway

The Golden Gate Greenway represents a historic opportunity for our city to create a family-friendly community space in the Tenderloin for children, seniors, and people of all ages and abilities.

The proposed design for the Greenway would create new public open space in the Tenderloin, the neighborhood with the least green space and the most traffic injuries and negative impacts in our city (all of its streets are on the City’s High-Injury Network).

The proposed design for the Golden Gate Greenway has overwhelming support from the community and is supported by residents, Supervisor Preston, and the Mayor’s Office.

Unfortunately, the Fire Department has been obstructing this project for over a year, which has resulted in this community being deprived of an amazing community space.

The Fire Department’s reasons for obstructing the project have changed multiple times and their lack of cooperation to make this space a reality is unacceptable.

The Tenderloin community needs the full vision of the Greenway to be realized and you can help make that a reality. Please take action to make this community space a reality!
